Abada, Kyogo, Forrest and Christie – Celtic TV’s Unique Angle Makes a Welcome Return

Celtic TV is back with its Unique Angle offering and with four excellent goals from last night’s dominant performance against Czech side FK Jablonec in the first leg of the Europa League qualifier.

All four goal scorers have good reason to be delighted with their goals from yesterday. Abada continues his impressive goalscoring start to his Celtic career and looks like getting a goal every time he plays – not bad for a wide player. Kyogo had a touch like Jorge Cadete in scoring his first Celtic goal – as Odsonne Edouard watched from the bench. Then James Forrest got his first of the season signalling his return to action after missing the early stages of the season.

But perhaps the most significant was the fourth goal, that diving header from Ryan Christie from yet another Forrest asset for Celtic – in commentary last night the fact that Jamesy is approaching both 100 goals and 100 assists for Celtic – remarkable! But Christie looks like a better ‘Ange Postecoglou’ player than others currently starting such as for instance David Turnbull. His contract is running down and he may well still want away, or is happy to wait until January.

But there was no hint of self preservation as Christie put his head in where it hurts to effectively – barring a complete calamity next Thursday night – putting this tie to bed. Christie will maybe be pondering the idea that in Postecoglou he has found a manager whose style of football is just about perfect for his intense, all action, approach to playing the game. Why would he want to walk away from that?
