Tomorrow night under the lights at Pittodrie – It’s what Scottish football is all about, and is a welcome shot in the arm for our game…
It’s what Scottish football is all about
Make no mistake our players who will get tested to the limit against Aberdeen. Tomorrow night’s clash between at Pittodrie has all the potential to be a cracking game of football. Top versus second under the lights in a packed stadium.
It’s what Scottish football is all about. Can Aberdeen narrow the gap and re-ignite their title challenge that has faltered badly over the last three matches or will a relentless Celtic show their class and pull away from the Dons leaving them in a battle for second with theRangers who have closed the gap between them and Jimmy Thelin side.
A great showcase for the Scottish Premiership
Our game isn’t seen as the most exciting league in the world, but tomorrow’s game which is being televised on Sky Sports has the potential to showcase our game in a positive way.
Aberdeen have been a breath of fresh air this season as they took everyone by surprise and looked like serious title contenders until their recent blip, picking up just two points from three away matches. Tomorrow night they will look to push us all the way in front of their own supporters to prove that they are indeed the real deal.
It might not be good for the old ticker
Celtic of course will look to combat that by winning and further tighten our grip at the top of the table. Brendan and the players will be relishing this challenge and it has all the ingredients to be a superb game of football.
It might not be good for the old ticker, but being seriously challenged is not only good for our game, but good for our players to be tested to the limit. Something that doesn’t happen very often domestically. This Aberdeen v Celtic match is reminiscent of the games up there in the early 1980s when both teams had their eye on the title and had no fear of their opponent.
It’s mouthwatering really, bet you can’t wait! Expect Aberdeen to adopt the same tactics that Derek McInnes tried when we were down at Rugby Park recently.
And talking about Derek McInnes, he’ll be back at Celtic Park in mid-January for the fourth round Scottish Cup tie against the holders after last night’s draw made by former Killie player Steven Naismith.
Just an Ordinary Bhoy
Coming off the back of such an impressive performance on Saturday, we could be looking at the hardest team selection, for Rodgers to be making so far this season imo?
That only adds to the excitement within the build up, for a massive game?
All over the pitch, Rodgers has selection issues to contend with, which in turn, leaves the sheep with the guessing game in how we will actually line out?
These little details, are having a big impact for Rodgers management and the overall success, our team have gained so far, to date this season?
We are a full 90 minute team these days, even if we have periods during matches, when we might not be at our devastating best?
But overall, we still can finish games stronger than we start them usually, on more occasions than not?
Yet we have shown already on a number of occasions, that we can also produce the full quality 90 minute performance also?
So tomorrow remains solely within our own hands, as does every game we play within Scottish football currently?
And the result will be decided by just how high our performance levels are at?
Anything close to what was produced on Saturday, and it will remain a case of just how much we beat the sheep by, regardless of the starting line-up imo?
