‘About time big Chris scored,’ Elyounoussi’s been pulling Jullien’s leg about Missed Sitters

IT is fair to say that Christopher Jullien has been due a goal. He’s had a series of near misses, including a couple or real sitters over the past few months and even his teammates have been pulling his leg about it.

During the week Celtic TV did a little video with Bolingoli crossing the ball and Jullien being the player in the middle looking to score. His strike rate in that video wasn’t particularly impressive, but neither it has to be said was the crossing!

Still he did get on the end of the Ryan Christie corner in the 89th minute against Lazio and nodded Celtic clear at the top of the Europa League Group, with our old friends Cluj in second spot. So that’s Scotland, Romania, then Italy and lastly France in the standing in this group, so much for the Big league sides.

Mohamed Elyounoussi said what the other Celtic players had been telling the big Frenchman, a £7million summer signing fro Toulouse, and that is beginning to look increasingly like a fine piece of business.

“What a night,” Elyounoussi said to the media after Celtic’s impressive 2-1 win over Lazio, as reported by Evening Times. “To come back from a goal down is amazing, it shows the character of this team. It was great. I am happy.

“We believed in ourselves, the coach made sure of that. When we came into the dressing room at half-time we believed we could turn it around.

“We came out and put more pressure on them, they started to make mistakes, and it is about time big Chris scored as well!

“He has had a few chances in other games, but I’m really happy for him and I’m happy for the team that we got the three points.

“It was a difficult game, they were better than us in the first half, and I think we were better than them in the second half.

“They had a few counter attacks and Fraser was unbelievable for us, some of his saves were incredible and he kept us in the game.

We are in a strong position. We have to win our home games, especially when we have that fantastic crowd behind us.

“We enjoyed Lazio, but now we have to focus on a difficult away game at Aberdeen. Hopefully everyone is ready.”
