Adam Idah deserves a run of games to rediscover his form

Idah struggled again against St Mirren on Sunday, but he deserves a run of games to prove himself and to rediscover his goalscoring form we saw last season…

Adam Idah was handed a rare start against St Mirren on Sunday and he didn’t exactly take his chance to impress. While he certainly tried his best, he yet again failed to do what he’s there to do and that is put the ball in the back of the net.

£9.5 million transfer fee

At a reported £9.5 million transfer fee we are expecting some goals from the Irish international especially after his prolific loan spell last season. Yes it may be putting pressure on Adam Idah, but he’s playing for a club where pressure is the norm and he really has to start producing the goods.

To be fair to Adam he doesn’t exactly get a consistent run of games in the side, and has to make do with  appearances from the bench so perhaps a run of starting games would be more beneficial to him.

Hopefully Idah gets his chance against Dundee United

Adam could get that chance again against Dundee United on Wednesday night and hopefully he grabs the opportunity by getting in among the  goals. Kyogo isn’t exactly firing on all cylinders either and Adam needs to up his game so we have some extra cutting edge up front.

Adam Idah is congratulated

Nicolas Kuhn is our main goal threat at the moment and Daizen Maeda has certainly scored his fair share this season.  We need more from our target men, particularly Adam. Let’s hope he starts producing the goods, and a run of games can help him do just that.

  1. I said at the time that we paid far too much for Idah who is very ordinary player and does not show signs of improvement. I suspect Cummings and Johnny Kenny are far superior footballers and goal scorers than Idah. A total waste of money in my opinion. Our fans put too much money on the board to spend money and this is the result. Kyogo is way overrated too.

      • To say these youngsters are “far superior” footballers, is a little naive! Sure, they both have great potential! But there’s a big difference! There’s also a reason Daniel Cummings hasn’t been included in the first team squad thus far! I trust Rodgers there.
He’s possibly had his head turned just like Vata and Kelly did. See how well it’s turned out for them eh!
Cummings has a daily opportunity to show Rodgers he’s worth considering!
        He hasn’t done that.
Kenny has done a good job across in Ireland and in Europe. He should get opportunities soon.
Also, don’t overlook the fact that Idah’s goals to minutes played return is as good as anyone in the league! So don’t jump on stats without facts!
