Notice of AGM and posting of Annual Report & Accounts

Celtic plc confirms that its Annual General Meeting will be held Celtic Park, Glasgow G40 3RE on Friday 21 November 2025 at 10.30am. Formal notice of the meeting will be issued to shareholders, along with the Company’s annual report and accounts, which are also available on the Company’s website at www.celticfc.com/AGM.

This is set to be a highly emotive event as small shareholders look to challenge the club’s board of directors on numerous issues not least the failings in the transfer market that has seen the first team operating without adequate cover in several positions including right winger and striker.

The controversial events of the past 24 hours too will feature prominently and hopefully Celtic’s signal biggest shareholder and a non executive director Dermot Desmond will be in attendance to allow shareholders to challenge him on the statement released last night regarding our former manager Brendan Rodgers.

And there’s much more too on top of all that so a lively event is in store on 21 November.

Meanwhile Celtic Fans Collective has this afternoon released a statement regarding Brendan Rodgers’ departure as Celtic manager and as a result have called on supporters to attend a pre-match protest at outside of Celtic Park tomorrow evening ahead of the absolutely must win match against Falkirk in the Scottish Premiership.

The statement reads as follows:

Yesterday, Celtic Football Club confirmed that Brendan Rodgers had left his position as manager. The signs of decline have been evident since the summer, and this crisis has come as a direct result of a clear absence of planning and the latest poorly executed transfer window.

Supporters hold differing views on Rodgers, but regardless of how anyone feels about our former manager, the ultimate responsibility for our current position lies with the board who appointed, reappointed and managed the manager as well as holding responsibility for all other operational matters. With conflicting accounts now in the public domain about what happened in the summer, it is difficult to reach a full conclusion about specific dealings, but we do know the following to be true:

  • 1. Only weeks ago, the Chief Executive assured the Celtic Fans Collective that “the Club did not accept there is a disconnect between the board and the manager”, which has now been directly contradicted by the Principal Shareholder in a statement hosted on the Club’s official platform.
  • 2. The board declined to investigate a leak to The Sun newspaper which accused the manager of behaviours that the Principal Shareholder has now also aired in public.
  • 3. The Principal Shareholder has insisted that every pound generated by the club is invested into its success, despite the large sums the club holds in the bank.

With these points in mind, it is understandable that for many fans, their trust in club communications has completely broken.

It is also important to note that Dermot Desmond, by releasing his own statement before the Chief Executive had made any comment, has publicly undermined him and made it clear that he alone holds power over Celtic Football Club.

Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay and the rest of the board have shown they lack the strength or independence to stand up to Dermot Desmond. They are incapable of developing and executing a strategy that will allow Celtic to reach its potential and have repeatedly let down both the manager and the supporters.

We invite and encourage all Celtic fans to join us outside the Main Stand from 7pm tomorrow to send a clear message – it is time for them to go…

So with the date for the Celtic AGM now set and with The Celtic Trust having done some outstanding work on that on behalf of small shareholders and indeed the wider Celtic support, the Celtic Fans Collective peaceful protest tomorrow night will give a real show of strength to the Celtic support’s collective voice as we strive for a better Celtic.

The team are eight points behind Hearts who play to league matches to our one this week due to the Premier Sports Cup semi-final against theRangers at Hampden on Sunday. It’s absolutely imperative we get the three points tomorrow so the focus when we get inside the ground should be to give 100% to the team that Shaun Maloney will pick and Martin O’Neill will try to inspire in the Celtic dressing room.

Conor Spence attended today’s media conference at Celtic Park for The Celtic Star with Shaun and Martin both speaking and we’ll have lots more on that on this evening.  Here’s the video…

  1. On the 2 key resolutions proposed for this AGM. Why are some sources reporting that the resolutions HAVE been accepted while other sources are reporting that they HAVE NOT yet been accepted? Can anyone on here clarify whether they have or have not been accepted for voting on?
