Ajer’s Agent Reveals Celtic Exit Plan

Kristoffer Ajer has two years remaining on his Celtic contract and appears to be enjoying himself in Glasgow. The 21 year old centre back came out during the last transfer window and insisted that he had no desire to leave Celtic.

Today, however, those claims have been heavily contradicted by his agent, Tore Pedersen, who surprisingly told the Daily Record: “He (Ajer) will not extend his contract with Celtic and will leave this summer.”

The agent went further with the claims insisting that the Norwegian, who was signed by Ronny Deila, has many options should he leave Parkhead. “There are several clubs who are interested, but I can’t go into their names. There are many who have followed him for a long period. There are also clubs who would like to have him, but who cannot afford it. There is generally great interest in Ajer.”

These claims suggest Ajer’s Celtic career is about to be over, ahead of one of the most historic seasons in the club’s history. The remarks come just two months after the defender said: “I’m really happy now, I’ve got two and a half years at Celtic and I’m happy with it. I love playing for Celtic.” Despite the player’s intentions, he did go on to say “All talk of contracts is between my agent and the club and I’m just concentrated on day-to-day work and trying to be the best footballer I can,” which suggests that his representatives may be calling the shots.
