Alexandro Bernabei collects award as Celtic set for tidy transfer profit

Celtic defender Alexandro Bernabei collected an award for his inclusion in the Brazilian top flight Team of the Season. The left-back impressed while on loan with Internacional, sparking rumours that clubs in Brazil could be keen on an £8m transfer raid in January.

The 24-year-old made the switch to Brazil in March after appearing to fall out of Brendan’s first team plans. The move appears to have panned out brilliantly for all parties as Bernabei has netted 3 goals and assisted 5 in 23 appearances. The player has been back playing regular football which can only protect his value for Celtic.

The player was beaming after collecting the accolade that signified his inclusion in the Team of the Season.

Bernabei will be hoping that he can receive some clarity over his situation in the coming weeks but it is expected that he will return to Celtic for Brendan to review the situation. Johnny Kenny will return from Shamrock Rovers as he looks to stake a claim for the first team but it is likely that Celtic will look to cash in on Bernabei.
