An absolute disaster-class, Nancy and Nicholson have to go

An absolute disaster class, questions righty being asked of Wilfried. Indeed I’d say he has to go alongside those who appointed starting with Michael Nicholson, who is equally as shambolic in the job he has at Celtic. Neither man has the experience or the skills necessary to lead Celtic on and off the park.

Celtic yesterday lost our second cup final at the home of football this calendar year, as we crashed to gutless, pathetic 3-1 defeat at the hands of St Mirren who throughly deserved their victory. A big well done to the Buddies and their manager Stephen Robinson.

Once again the players looked completely lost under the new and much criticised philosophy of Wilfried Nancy, as they were second best much of the afternoon, and look every much resembled a mid-table side than reigning champions and hitherto serial winners.

Cup final defeats can happen, that’s football, but after going down with a whimper against Hearts and Roma in the past seven days, it’s totally unacceptable for a Celtic side to lose three games in succession, especially games of such importance.  Celtic are a shambles under Michael Nicholson off the park and as a result have become an even bigger shambles on it thanks to the decisions the Celtic CEO has taken.

Questions will rightly be asked of Wilfried Nancy, and it’s not too dramatic to suggest his job could well be on the line such is the current state of affairs on the park.

No Celtic manager can survive three gutless defeats on the spin, especially games of such importance. His job is rightly on the line. Although it’s highly doubtful that our gutless board have the guts to admit their mistake and limit the damage by cutting him loose. Nancy is finished at Celtic, you only have to look at the body language from Callum McGregor and the other Celtic players to see that.

Martin O’Neill papered over the cracks

Under Martin O’Neill we looked to have found our old rhythm, although It was slightly papering over the cracks, but we were getting the job done, as the players had that winning mentality firmly installed into them once again.

Wilfried looks to have torn that all up by going Gung-Ho as he tries to stamp his authority right away. That’s all well and fine if it’s pre-season or meaningless end of season games, but you can’t implement new and alien ideas in the middle a run of vital fixtures.

Questions are rightly being asked over his credentials to do the job, it’s not an overreaction as some will no doubt claim, Celtic lost a cup final and worsened our chances in the Europa League and crucially in the title race under Nancy’s crazy decision making. Football is a results business and Nancy is a flop as far as that’s metric is concerned.

They wanted Brendan Rodgers gone

Nicholson is the Celtic CEO. He is paid around £700k a year to make the big decisions and to get them right.  Him and his former boss Peter Lawwell wanted Brendan Rodgers – winner of 11 from 13 trophies as Celtic manager – out the door and they certainly got their way. They banned the Green Brigade.  Banned the fan media. Banned the women’s fan media. Briefed the Sunday Mail editor to attack the Celtic support. They are unfit to hold office at our football club.

Incidentally the Celtic women’s team yesterday was watched by a crowd of around 60 as apathy and anger sets in  there with a Sack the Board flag on view.

Nancy is way out of his depth

Shaun Maloney sat at watch this mess yesterday. He and Mark Fotheringham should be taking training this week and Wilfried and his backroom staff should be paid up and shown the door. It is not going to work.

What a state we’re in thanks to Nicholson and his boardroom colleagues. They have lost the support, Nancy has lost the dressing room. There is no way back for Nancy or the man who appointed him and threw him in the deep-end without even checking if he could swim.

Michael, you did this to Celtic. Your time is up and so is yours Wilfried.
