Anderlecht, Watford and a Saudi club rival Celtic for Luis Palma signing

Celtic will have to be sharp and move quickly to seal a deal for Luis Palma deal as interest mounts for his services this transfer window. It was reported late last night that the Hoops had slapped in a £3.5 million bid for the Honduran and that the 23-year-old is the man the club feel will be that left-winger that we are lacking presently.

The Celtic Star reported earlier today too that reports from Greece by Giannis Chorianopoulos had stated that Aris were seriously considering the bid from the Scottish Premiership Champions and that it was now a waiting game to see if they decide to bite. It’s a sweat now to see if we can get some traction on the transfer front and this latest update will leave the supporters in even more of a sweat.

For it’s been confirmed that there are a few club’s vying for Palma’s signature, including an unnamed Saudi Pro League side who are said to be keen to throw a major fee at the Greek outfit for their forward. According to Football Scotland, Anderlecht, Watford and this Saudi club are in the hunt for the wide-man and so the Bhoys many act fast if they are to make him their latest signing.

It’s a worrying update for the Celtic supporters as the report has also revealed that despite their being an offer from the Parkhead club, the player himself would prefer to play in a better league. This will be a concern as we are running out of time to secure our targets and with another game in a few days, it leaves us with more questions than answers.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
