Ange Postecoglou named as October’s Scottish Premiership Manager of Month

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been named as the Scottish Premiership’s Glens Manager of the Month for October. And Celtic have confirmed this morning that Ange will be holding a Celtic Fan Media conference at the start of next week.

Celtic remained undefeated throughout October with three away wins at tough venues against Aberdeen, Motherwell and Hibs, plus a home win over St Johnstone. The only blip was the frustrating goalless draw against Livingston when a stoppage time penalty miss by Giorgos Giakoumakis prevented an absolutely perfect month for Ange, his backroom staff, players and the entire Celtic Support. And you’ll notice that Ange has made sure that his coaches are included in the photographs as he collects this award. Classy as always from the Celtic manager.

Speaking to the official Celtic FC website Ange had this to say about today’s good news:
“It’s great to be recognised in this way as the Glen’s Premiership Manager of the Month but I’d like to thank the players, coaches and backroom staff for all of their efforts because, as ever, whatever we achieve we do it together.

“Our football has been good and delivered some really positive results and will give us something to build on.

“We are grateful for the award but realise fully that we have only just started and now need to keep working hard and hopefully continue to progress and get better right across this season and beyond.”

Colin Matthews, CEO of Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, said: “Celtic have had a great month, with Ange Postecoglou leading his side through October undefeated, including a stunning performance against Hibernian – marking the first time the Hoops have won at Easter Road in the league in almost eight years, and he is a deserving winner of the Glen’s Manager of the Month award. Congratulations to him and his team.”

Given what appears to be happening down river it might be worth mentioning this…
