Ange Postecoglou on remarkable celebrations outside Celtic Park last Sunday

Ange Postecoglou today admitted that he’d have preferred a home game for a title win so that last weekend’s title celebrations could have unfolded with a Celtic win before the 60,000 Celtic supporters inside Paradise.

However the Celtic manager certainly did enjoy sharing the moment with the 1400 Celtic fans in the away section at Tynecastle plus the ones who ventured undercover to sit in among the home fans.

Then there was the return to Celtic Park and unlike last year’s title win after an evening match at Tannadice, this time it was an early kick-off against Hearts so the squad got back to Celtic Park in the afternoon for a more suitable hour for the title party to get underway. Not that the late hour stopped the Celtic support last year, it should be noted!

This time around Ange reckoned it was great to share the moment at Celtic Park last weekend with the thousands of Celtic supporters who mad their way to Paradise after the 2-0 win over Hearts won Celtic’s 11th title in twelve years.

“It was nice to get back to Celtic Park. Last year when we got back from Dundee United, it was a bit late but this time it was still early in the day and the reception we got was outstanding,” Ange Postecogou said at today’s Media Conference ahead of the Dead Rubber at Ibrox tomorrow.

“The supporters created a great atmosphere and the players, myself and the staff certainly appreciated the fact that they had come down to share in the success we’ve had.

“It would have been nice to have a home game to back it up with but we are going to have to put all that stuff on ice until we are in front of 60,000 next week. It was good to share it with decent numbers after the game,” the Celtic manager said.

And on the sixth meeting of the season against theRangers, Ange reflected on whether these games always throw up new challenges for him as a manager.

“There is a different context to all of them,” Ange said. Home is different to away. League is different to a cup final or semi-final. They are all kind of different in terms of the context you go into.

“This one is different again in terms of the teams and the way they play, (the)Rangers have had a managerial change, Michael (Beale) came in and tweaked the way they played and that provided a different challenge from the earlier part of the year.

“There is always kind of injuries and depending on the make up of the team selections we try and treat every game as an individual contest but there are similarities there between all of them but you need to address them in a singular fashion,” the Celtic manager added.
