Ange Rarely Misses An Opportunity Like This

During Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic tenure, his team have rarely missed an opportunity to assert themselves and secure something. His positive, attacking, never stopping philosophy ensures his teams always go for the kill rather than being conservative.

No game exemplifies this better than the 2-1 victory over theRangers at Ibrox last season. Going into that fixture, Celtic held a small advantage with a few matches remaining. Some fans were happy to settle for a draw, a fatal approach which we saw from Neil Lennon’s side in the 2010/11 season, when we blew the league at Inverness a couple of games after drawing 0-0 in the Glasgow Derby. Ange didn’t allow his team to rest on their laurels or seek to hold the lead they had. Instead of changing his formation and line up to a more negative one, he viewed the game as an opportunity to go for the kill and extend our lead at the top. His side did just that and all but wrapped up the title.

This Monday provides a great chance for Celtic to all but wrap up the title again. It is hard to see how Celtic can fail to win the league, regardless of the outcome. However, if we extend the gap to 12 points then you can put the green and white ribbons on the trophy right away.

Whatever happens, Celtic will be playing their usual attacking game at relentless speed. Hopefully the team continue with their imperious run of domestic results and we can toast the Champions elect come full time. If not, we go again with everything firmly in our hands.

  1. Last season’s win there we conceded a goal early so hopefully we don’t do that this time. They will come at us as soon as the whistle blows but if we can contain them and score first then we should hopefully be able to put them them in their place. COYBIG
