Another Beautiful Sunday? Confidence is high on Celtic Noise ahead of Glasgow Derby

I have been reading and to be honest, loving the over confidence permeating every pore of every Rangers feature in the press and from their support.

They are world renowned for thinking they are better than they actually are, helped in that by a press filled with their fans. For the last three years they have been going for 55, which would be up there with any alleged miracle that’s ever been claimed due to them being 7 years old. Truly magnificent achievement that. Every year they have got a bit better and we have stood and let them close the gap.

The start of this season and we are playing much better, apart from the defence which is still a gaping wound in our team.

We go there tomorrow and I’m not in the slightest worried they are a better team, absolutely no chance. I’ve watched most of their games and they are not at our level. They lack class, they huff and their defence is also poor.

However, all that isn’t what will decide this game. It’s all about us standing up, knowing we are better and showing it.

It’s that simple to me, we turn up, we win. We turn up and turn it on we skelp them.

If I was in our dressing room I would look into the eyes of everyone of our players and ask, are you up for a fight? We can have no fear. We cannot let our heads go down. We cannot let them be first to every ball. If they want a fight, we fight.

If our players have anything they will need bottle. Fight for every ball, keep the ball. Attack them at speed, play our intricate passing, take our chances and that place tomorrow will be silent apart from the noise they make leaving as they listen to the 800 Celtic Supporters celebrate.

Stand up lads. Stand up and fight for the 800 and the millions around the world backing you to the hilt.

No prisoners. No hiding do that and it will be no problem. COYBIG

The first few challenges are important. Need to get in there hard (but fair – give no excuse for Madden to book us) and no backing down. Make a statement and set down a marker – think Barry Robson very early on against Christian Dailly. Show them we will fight them tooth and nail for every ball instead of the lame no shows from last season.

Win these battles and our superior skill will shine through and we will win by a couple. Lose them and we will come away with nothing except abuse and jeers ringing in our ears.

Lenny needs to get his team selection and tactics right and get the Bhoys fired up. I think he will. HH

That was the horrible thing about the December game last year, no fight whatsoever, we just let them run all over us with no resistance. I don’t know whether putting Calmac at left back just confused the sh** out of everybody but it was nasty to watch.

I genuinely belive we have the better players for tomorrow but we had the better players during that god awful shambles last year too.

The magnitude of the game is huge, if we go to Greyskull out play them and give them a good skelping their bubble will burst, their hopes will die and we’ll win 9 at a canter. Losing doesn’t bear thinking about so I’m not going to.

I believe our biggest problem is DETERMINATION to win this game. The last 2 games we have been run over because we had little fight in the team. We know how much this game will mean to them and they will be determined to win their individual battles. We were weak in the tackle last time out and second to most balls. I hope we have more determination on Sunday.

Our front our is the strongest area of the team… but in the last two games there we haven’t even given these Bhoys a chance. God willing, McGregor’s passing and Christie’s running will be the difference this time. And let’s hope we don’t give them a goal head start this time!
