Armenia v Scotland: team news, KO time and where to watch Celtic stars on International Duty

Celtic’s Scottish contingent are back in action tomorrow as Steve Clarke’s side face Armenia in Yerevan. The scorching 30oC heat will impose itself at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium but Tony Ralston, Callum McGregor, David Turnbull and Greg Taylor will hope that they can play a part in getting Scotland’s Nations League campaign back on track.

Scotland were badly beaten by Ireland in Dublin with a comprehensive 3-0 thrashing. It was a sobering watch for Scotland fans who had, only a few days previous, been dreaming of a World Cup place. The fallout has been as expected, Steve Clarke has been criticised for his team selection and tactics but a win in the final match of the International block will ease the pressure on his team.

Team News

Ralston and McGregor started the defeat in Dublin and you would imagine that the Celtic skipper would retain his place in the Starting XI. Ralston, who scored in the 2-0 win at Hampden last Wednesday, is more of a doubt given that Nathan Patterson and Aaron Hickey are in the squad. Clarke is renowned for making few changes and that might see Ralston collect his third start. However, hopefully the other two Celts – Turnbull and Taylor can rack up some minutes before taking a well-earned rest after a grueling season.

Clarke has indicated that there are some significant doubts for the game but he did not say who. Selfishly, we can hope that these aren’t Celtic players but the manager decides to rotate his pack during the game so that McGregor doesn’t pick up a needless injury.

Kick-Off Time

The game kicks off at 17:00 (Celtic Park Time).

Where to Watch

The game will be shown on Premier Sports 1.
