Back in your box Jack, Kasper’s the best keeper in Scottish football

Kasper showing his class on international duty with Denmark. He’s undoubtedly the best keeper in the Scottish Premiership…

Kasper Schmeichel has been nothing short of exceptional for Celtic since the moment he signed. Whoever was replacing Joe Hart had very big gloves to fill, and Kasper has done just that and plenty more on top.

Even though he’s just turned 38 he’s showed that he’s still very capable of playing at the top level as he again proved last night in Denmark’s hard fought goalless draw in Serbia.

Kasper was rightly named man of the match after pulling off vital saves that saw his nation advance to the quarter final stage of the Nations League.

There were a few questions raised when Brendan signed the Dane, and accusations of him been brought on board ‘just because he was known to the manager’ were thrown about by some supporters who wanted to see big money spent on the goalkeeping position.

Yes Kasper was a player well known to Brendan after their time at Leicester together, and with Brendan knowing what he brought to the table, that was the very reason he was seen as the man to replace Joe Hart.

Kasper has excellent distribution qualities, the best I’ve ever seen from a Celtic goalkeeper, and with the way Brendan likes to play, he’s fitted in superbly and is one of the main reasons we are playing so superbly this campaign.

His shot stopping abilities are also top notch and that makes him very much the complete package as a goalkeeper. We pulled off a massive coup landing Kasper and there is no doubt that he is the best keeper in our league. No one comes close. Back in your box, Jack.

About Author

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.
