‘Beautiful Sunday,’ Rangers rage and anger at Celtic View headline

THIS week’s edition of the Celtic View is out now and is causing a great deal or anger and rage over on the Rangers forums this morning.

Why? Well they seem to have taken offence to the headline – “Beautiful Sunday” which some of you will recall actually was the term given to all of these Sabbath day victories over the Ibrox club in 2018, by The Celtic Star.

We even have our Beautiful Sunday t-shirts available on The Celtic Star Bookstore!

Here’s the Celtic View front cover this week, and it is a glorious read too!

The first Beautiful Sunday was at Ibrox when a ten man Celtic, twice behind in the game, roared back each time and there were three extra special goals from Tom Rogic, Moussa Dembele and that wonder winner from Odsonne Edouard.

That was the game when we started using Beautiful Sunday and we had to wait a few months for the next one at Hampden in the Scottish Cup semi-final. The score was 4-0 and it could have been much more, as indeed it was by the time they visited Celtic Park.

Celtic went one better and scored 5 without reply and the Celtic DJ played Beautiful Sunday as the league winning celebrations got underway at the final whistle.

That brought us to Sunday’s 1-0 win – a score that hugely flatters the visitors – and as is now the custom, Beautiful Sunday was played at the final whistle, signalling another victory for Celtic in the Glasgow Derby.

The fact that there is anger and rage among their support will only make the Celtic fans more determined to sign this song every time we beat them. Here’s a flavour of their rage and anger this morning directed at The Celtic View…ps suppose if they are looking for a football magazine covering the Glasgow Derby’s that’s their only choice as Craigy Whyte closed down The Rangers News…

“Following on from the post match playing over the PA at Celtic Park of this tune – an act that obviously endorses the version of it sung throughout the match by the home support – it comes as no surprise that their club magazine has the song title as their front page headline. I’ll await the questions in the MSM and their pursuit of this club’s spokesperson for an explanation.”

“You’ll be waiting. Everyone knows what the reference now is but expect nothing to happen. The political and policing landscape in Scotland is pro-t*rrier and they can get away with whatever they want. They have control of local and diddy national government. It’s up to us to get rid of them.”

““Tiffany” played at Ibrox with Lafferty and Arfield singing along on the pitch and “I think we’re alone now” the headline in the Rangers News. I’m laughing even typing that at the notion that would pass without comment…”

We’re laughing that you don’t even realise that the Rangers News is dead – just like Rangers!

“Mate, it’s only the equivalent but we both know how things would be handled. Such is the difference, given the political agenda in this backwater.”

“What would be the reaction if we played the beach boys Sloop John B over the tannoy prior to kick off or at half time on 28 December?”

“It might be a forlorn hope but maybe by just highlighting it, one person in the media might think it’s worth going out on a limb. Each passing week its seems this country is being measured up for the cape that was draped over pre war Germany.”

“Vile and extremely sinister. They’re not normal people.”

“Has any country ever gone to war on its own majority indigenous group? I cannot imagine it has. This shows what we are facing.”

“They are flouting very close to the rules set by the SFA/SPFL with regards to bringing the game into disrepute. I doubt whether any journalist, politician or anyone with a public voice that will be heard will have the balls to call them out publicly and bring it into the mainstream, forcing the footballing authorities into action.”

“Sounds like it’s time to bring back the Famine Song…”

No-one mentioned that they could always STOP us singing Beautiful Sunday by at least getting a draw against us.

Here’s Beautiful Sunday, in all it’s glory, from the weekend…

Have your say on their reaction to the Celtic View’s Beautiful Sunday headline over on the Celtic Noise now…
