Beck to Celtic in the summer is still a strong possibility

Owen Beck would have been a good signing for Celtic, but it wasn’t to be, not just now anyway…

Owen Beck was a name that was linked with a move to Celtic recently, such a move that excited the supporters, and with good reason. The left back is a very promising player with much quality as he proved in his short stint with Dundee.

He was also brought into the Liverpool squad by Jurgen Klopp, albeit through an injury crisis, but still, to be in contention for a place in a side such as Liverpool is no mean feat. Hence the reason why any rumoured move to Celtic fell through. Klopp gave the young Welshman a short cameo a few weeks ago which dashed any hopes of a move to Glasgow, as the rules dictate you can’t play for three different clubs in the same season.

Dundee of course are one of the sides he played for and he’s returned to the Dark Blues for a second loan spell until the end of the season.

Beck would have been a very good signing for Celtic, without a doubt, but circumstances outwith our control meant it couldn’t happen. Not at this moment in time anyway, but as for a summer move? Don’t rule it out because it looks like a strong possibility.
