Belgian side hoping to secure deal for Marian Shved, according to report

KV Mechelen are hoping to sign Celtic’s Marian Shved shortly. According to GVA, The Belgians want the winger for another year with Celtic willing to agree a deal to get the player out of Celtic.

The Ukrainian winger was on loan at Mechelen in Belgium last season after failing to impress Neil Lennon. The winger, signed from Karpaty Lyiv, has made just three appearances for the club – scoring once. The Celtic winger was signed in January 2019 from Ukraine but failed to make any impact in the time he’s had at the club. He was loaned to the Belgian side but given Lennon has moved on, he may have fancied a crack at a Celtic Park redemption.

Ange Postecoglou will likely give the vast majority of players a fresh start but you have to feel that Shved doesn’t want to come back to Glasgow. It is probably for the best that he is cut loose as squad players should be limited to players that are likely to either make an impact or want to develop, from what we have seen from Shved, he may not fall into either of those categories.
