Biased Hacks use Coronavirus for Celtic-Bashing, Compare and Contrast

NEIL LENNON had his players in for training this morning as preparation continued for the Glasgow Derby on Sunday. When news broke that the game was postponed and that Scottish football was closing down with immediate effect, the Celtic players were updated and then given a few days off and told to await developments.

The Celtic manager continued with his previously scheduled Media Conference and did what he does best, he fought Celtic’s corner.

“We’re over 30 games into the season, they’re not going to take that away from us. Are they going to do that to Liverpool? I would doubt it very much,” was one of the quotes that the media are running with. We told you last night the Null and Void Campaign is now well underway as the try to stop 9IAR.

You may have read our article earlier today and one from last night about the Celtic PR and the relevance or otherwise of the hacks who get to ask questions of our players and management. Have a look at this. Coronavirus being used to bash Celtic from one of the more despicable of the hacks.

Here’s another one. Tom English.

Totally misrepresenting what the Celtic manager was saying to suit his own agenda. More coronavirus-Celtic bashing.

Here’s a quote from Neil Lennon as reported by the club’s twitter feed.

“This virus has taken people. It’s taken loved ones. We’ve got players from all around the world, and these players are our priority and have been since this outbreak. We have to put everything sporting aside. Your health is your wealth, at the end of the day,” decent, considerate and plenty of empathy in there. That kind of stuff just doesn’t fit the narrative, unhelpful as it is to Operation Null and Void.

You get the feeling that if Neil Lennon announced that he had tested positive for coronavirus the hacks response would be ‘Well, he brought it on himself,” and you know we’ve been there before with that one.

Celtic have just released a statement on the club’s website under the heading POSTPONEMENT. It reads as follows…

“Clearly, today’s decision to postpone our match against Rangers FC this Sunday is regrettable. However, the health and well-being of supporters, players and staff will always be of paramount importance. This will always be the focus.

“We attach the SFA/SPFL Joint Response statement for our supporters’ attention. CLICK HERE

“We are sure our fans will understand that this is a situation which is changing all the time.

Please note, the Club will update supporters with regards to our fixture against St Johnstone FC on Saturday, March 21 and all further fixtures as soon as possible.”

Back to what Neil Lennon was saying today.

“I’m not a health expert, the decision to postpone the league has come from people far more well-qualified than me. The public health is the most important thing. If that decision has been taken then we back it.”

Unhelpful this sensible stuff. It’s boring the Hacks. “This virus has taken people. It’s taken loved ones. We’ve got players from all around the world, and these players are our priority and have been since this outbreak. We have to put everything sporting aside. Your health is your wealth, at the end of the day,” as we’ve previously mentioned. Yawn, yawn.

Lenny gave an update on the immediate plans for the Celtic squad. “It’s been business as usual, we were training today and then we got word that the game was cancelled. We’ve given the players a few days off until we can sit down on Monday and see where we go from here.” Still nothing to write headlines about.

“The SPFL took the lead from the EPL, and I think it was inevitable that Scotland would follow England’s lead following their decision to postpone. We’ve had briefings every morning. We’ve been well briefed as well as we possibly can.” Still nothing controversial, nothing to bash-Celtic about with. But there’s still time. Operation Null and Void, you know the questions that Scott Brown was hit with yesterday…

A wee reminder…

Neil Lennon was asked what would happen IF league was to get cancelled: “We’d be the champions and rightly so. We’re 13 points clear. In most of the other leagues, I’d say it’s the same. Dundee United would need to be promoted as well.”

So there they have it. Folk are dying and selfish Lennon is only interested in stealing a league title that was never properly won. But Lenny goes on fighting his corner, as they knew that he would. “If you’re talking about the armageddon of the league being cancelled or stopped, then it should go on the average points total, which would make us champions and rightly so. We’re over 30 games into the season, they’re not going to take that away from us.

“We’ll hopefully have a bit more information on Monday, get them back in Tuesday, training and back into some sort of rhythm. We don’t know how to gauge it, we’ll talk to the experts and medical staff and take it from there.

“You want your fans in there to back you, they play such a big part. The most important people in football are the players and the supporters. I’m not a big lover of games behind closed doors, but if it’s needs must then so be it.”

Be warned, these people have no interest in these games being played. They want to the season scrapped and the season declared Null and Void. And you know what, even if Celtic win the next two seasons titles they say that it’s not ten-in-a-row because for season 2019-20 there was no winner.

They pulled off a similar stunt back in 2012 when they avoided punishment for playing players who were never properly registered and they managed to have all the titles won by their old club passed over to the new club as if nothing had happened. They manipulated things then and that’s the plan now.

What will Celtic do about Operation Null and Void? There’s no way that the Celtic Support will take this one lying down.
