Bodø/Glimt set to lose star striker ahead of Celtic clash

Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt will sell star striker Erik Botheim to FC Krasnodar in the coming days. The 21-year-old scored 22 goals and picked up 10 assists last season in 46 appearances, which prompted interest from around Europe. He scored three goals in two games against Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma which announced his arrival on the European stage but it appears that Russian club FC Krasnodar have won the race for Botheim.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter to update on the deal, saying that personal terms had been agreed and a medical has been booked for the attacker.

Bodø/Glimt have already lost star midfielder Patrick Berg to French side Lens and this further sale represents a dismantling of their title-winning sides.

Celtic will face Bodo/Glimt in the Round of 32 in the Europa Conference League after falling narrowly short of the next stage of the Europa League. The games will be played on the 17th and 24th of February with the first game being played at Celtic Park.
