Bournemouth battling Celtic for signature of Kyle Edwards, according to report

Bournemouth are reportedly looking to hijack Celtic’s move to Kyle Edwards. The 23-year-old failed to agree on fresh terms with West Bromwich Albion and as a result, left the club as a free agent at the beginning of July. Celtic had been considering a move for the winger but following the signature of Liel Abada, the interest appears to have cooled leaving Scott Parker’s Cherries free to move for the winger.

As reported by Football Insider, given the Celtic links have disappeared, Edwards is looking at moving to The Baggies’ Championship rivals Bournemouth. Given that Edwards would be available for a small compensation fee, much like Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide, the English winger may have been a suitable alternative option to Mikey Johnston. However, with Israeli Internationalist Abada signing on a five-year deal, Celtic will likely pursue other targets in differing positions.

Postecoglou has added Liel Abada (LW), Osaze Urhoghide (CB) and Kyogo Furuhashi (ST) with Carl Starfelt (CB) said to be having a medical in Moscow ahead of a proposed move to Celtic. The club have also been linked with Kristijan Lovric (RW) from HNK Gorica for £5m.
