Boyata told to shut it, Roberts has a date in Glasgow

DEDRYCK BOYATA has been in excellent form since returning to the Celtic side after failing to force a move in the last transfer window. He is now well into the final year of his contract and will almost certainly be leaving Celtic either in January (for a smaller fee than was available in the sinner) or for free in the summer.

The third option – that he will accept a new contract offer from Celtic – is highly improbable. You would be better reading about Paddy Roberts being back in Glasgow at the weekend and going on a date with a young girl – we’ll not build your hopes up by suggesting that a move back to Celtic is afoot.

We’ll leave Paddy to enjoy his leisure time during the international break and get back to what Boyata said yesterday regarding playing for Celtic.

“Right now I’m in a position where I’m not supposed to say anything about what happened in the past.

“But I am fully committed with the team and I’m trying to give as much as I can whenever I’m on the pitch.

“I’m a Celtic player and I’m very happy to be a Celtic player. Whatever happens next, happens next.

“What happened in the past is in the past and I’m looking forward to getting back to where we were the last three seasons.

“I’m working hard for it and hopefully we’ll get back where we’re supposed to be,” he told Sky Sports.

Fair enough, no-one can accuse him of lacking professionalism since he returned to the side and he is clearly our best central defender.

You would hope that Celtic have a clear understanding of when he is leaving and if he is to be sold in January there are viable alternatives lined-up. 8IAR could depend on it!
