Brendan confirms Celtic stance on Bernabei amid £8m interest

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he will review Alexandro Bernabei’s future in the January window. The left back has impressed while on loan with Internacional, sparking suggestion that he may make the move permanent.

Speaking at his media conference before the trip to Tynecastle, Rodgers admitted that the club would review the situation but there was no update.
“I think it’s great that he’s gone away and done well and sometimes you just find that.

“I think he’d been here for a period of time it hadn’t worked out as probably what he or the club would have wanted and sometimes that happens you go away, you go back into a different culture or a different life and back into obviously South America for him and the reports that I hear is that he’s done well.

“But there’s nothing more to add than that. He’ll finish his spell there and then we’ll look at that and see where that’s at come January.”

Celtic will be reviewing their options at left back given Greg Taylor’s contract expires in the summer as does Alex Valle’s loan deal. If Taylor is weighing up his options, Celtic will likely be doing the same as they consider bolstering the position.

Bernabei has played 21 times in all competitions for the Brazilian club providing four assists as well as netting on three occasions.
