Brendan Rodgers provided a promising injury update after Cameron Carter-Vickers was forced from the field with an injury. The Scottish Champions had just scored their first goal of the afternoon when the American defender went down to be treated by the club’s medical staff.
The 25-year-old is Celtic’s best defender and missed the first Glasgow Derby of the season, the 1-0 win at Ibrox. Although, the shine was slightly taken off the victory with CCV suddenly a doubt for the weekend.
Although, speaking to Sky Sports, Rodgers cleared up the situation but said they would need to assess whether the ex-Spurs stopper would make the game against Rangers.
🗣️ "I'm so happy for the players, they thoroughly deserved that… [Carter-Vickers] started to tighten up a bit. We'll assess him & see where we're at in the next few days."

Whilst Rodgers was coy on whether he would be back for the weekend, it is promising that it was only tightness and a precaution that had been discussed with the management.
Celtic took the three points back down from the City of Discovery thanks to goals from Paulo Bernardo and a brace from Mikey Johnston. The Celts go five points ahead of Rangers, who play tomorrow, before the teams face off on Saturday.
