Bring on The Rangers – Celtic seal maximum points in Dingwall

Celtic sealed all three points in Dingwall this afternoon, fighting off a spirited Ross County to go within touching distance of the league title. Jota scored one and assisted one as the Celts move towards regaining their crown after just one year.

Kyogo Furuhashi’s first half header gave Celtic the lead at half-time despite the Japanese forward being involved in a number of chances to increase the visitors’ lead. Celtic had chances to double their advantage and County also grew into the game as they chased European football next season. Celtic were forced to defend in the second half as County attacked. However, Ange Postecoglou’s team continued going right until the end and were rewarded.

Jota, who provided an inch-perfect cross for Kyogo’s opener, scored a late goal to double Celtic’s advantage and wrap up all points. Today’s action means that Jota has scored eleven and assisted eleven since joining on loan from Benfica.

Celtic face Rangers next Sunday knowing that three points will all but seal the League title. With a huge goal difference in Celtic’s favour, three points next week would take Ange’s side nine points clear with three games to play. Whilst mathematically possible for Rangers to win all their games and Celtic to lose theirs, the vastly superior goal difference may be a bridge too far for the Ibrox club.

It will set the pulses racing next week as Celtic go into the game looking to regain the title from the Ibrox club and inflict a defeat upon them. We may not be able to officially clinch the title next week but a win will all but seal the safe return of our trophy. The manager will want his team to make up for their loss at Hampden by playing at a fierce tempo, leaving Rangers trembling in their wake.
