Broony’s Sweet sixteen, Skipper’s Haul of Fame

BROONY’S MEDALS – THE HAUL OF FAME

Billy McNeill won 22 domestic winners medals, yesterday Broony reached 16, so another 2 back to back trebles to draw level then!

With perhaps 3 or maybe 4 years left can he win 7 honours? Assuming we reach 10IAR can he win 4 cups in 3 seasons?

“Could I do that? You never know,” Broony stated.

“We’ll see how next year goes. Football is different now to then. The type of professionalism, the amount of games we play.

“To be compared to the Lions and a Celtic captain like Billy McNeill is brilliant but they are legends in their own way and always will be.”

While time may be against Broony if he is to reach and surpass Cesar’s record, he reckons that there is a Celtic star who will beat it. James Forrest has 14 domestic winners medals and at 26 years of age is likely to be playing for Celtic a little longer than his captain.

“People talk about me winning trophies but look at James. He has won a lot of trophies and has a lot more years ahead of him than I have,” Broony argued.

“He’ll go on and break records as well and could go past that 22 for Billy.”

The Celtic fans will have to do it all over again today and it will be a pleasure to make our way to Paradise to celebrate the testimonial of our club’s greatest captain since Billy McNeill.

“I signed for Celtic 11 years ago to win trophies and I’m still doing it 11 years later,” a proud Broony noted.

“I’ve picked up my 16th trophy and doing it as captain is great.”

Have you got one of these? Beautiful Sunday should be celebrated all summer long…

The latest podcast is out now- it’s part 2 of the brilliant interview with Celtic’s SLO John Paul Taylor where he selects the games and the soundtracks of his own personal Celtic journey. Loved his memories of the 4-2 game in the first part of his interview. Here’s the latest instalment from the UK’s Football podcast of the year…
