Cameron Carter-Vickers injury rumour as Lagerbielke deal hits the skids

Gustaf Lagerbielke’s Lecce move appears to have broken down after Celtic made a decision to stall the deal. The Swedish central defender was expected to go to the Serie A side on a loan deal with an option to buy; however, the move has been put on hold.

Rumours have been swirling this afternoon that the deal was put on hold due to an injury to Cameron Carter-Vickers. The USA Internationalist has suffered from a hamstring injury on two occasions so far this season; however, Sky Sports News’ Anthony Joseph updated to say that the Scottish Champions have decided to pause negotiations due to an injury.

Carter-Vickers started in the 1-0 win over Ross County before being substituted for Maik Nawrocki in the second half. It more than likely was a precaution by the Celtic manager as opposed to anything new. Although, this update appears to suggest that this is a new development.

Hopefully there will be some clarity before the window closes on Thursday night. The Scottish Champions have only signed Nicolas Kuhn with the manager keen to add quality. Unfortunately, the club have no acted on the advantage with money in the bank thus far and brought in at least a left-back and a striker.
