Camp Nou memories

The magnificent Camp Nou in Barcelona is undergoing reconstruction. The sad sight of the famous walls outside the stadium being tore down brought a tear to the Barcelona fans, and football fans in general such is the place the historic stadium has in football history.

It is undoubtedly up there with the most iconic stadia in world football, anyone who has been there, either supporting their side or just for a tour will tell you how captivating it is to be present in such an arena.

Barca hope to have the ground completely renovated in the next year or two and it will surely be a spectacular sight once more.

For us Celtic supporters the Nou camp holds a few memories, some good, some bad but we have always enjoyed our trips to Catalonia and have shared a tremendous mutual respect with the Barca fans.

The 7-0 and 6-1 thumpings in recent years are memories we wish to forget, but there have been impressive results such as the 1-1 draw in 2004 and of course the 0-0 draw just a few months earlier that seen us beat the Catalan giants over two legs to advance in the UEFA cup.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy

About Author

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.
