Carter-Vickers Injury Fear As Defender Left Out Of USA Squad

Cameron Carter-Vickers was not named in the USA squad, much to the shock of Celtic and USA supporters alike. That was until US Soccer clarified that he is unavailable for selection due to suffering a knee injury.

Ange Postecoglou is set to take questions at the pre match press conference tomorrow, so it will be interesting to hear what he has to say about the situation.

Carter-Vickers is a phenomenal talent and a centre back who Ange Postecoglou recently described as “probably the best defender in the league.” Therefore, it is essential that Celtic can call on him for key league and Cup games in April, particularly with Starfelt currently nursing an injury too.

Hopefully it is just a case of allowing the player to rest and receive treatment for a minor injury as a precaution, especially as Carter-Vickers has rarely been a starter for the national team.

Fans will wait with bated breath for clarification from Postecoglou tomorrow.
