Fifty years ago today Celtic defeated Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final Replay to complete the Double. The goals came from Lou Macari and Harry Hood. Replying to a Celtic fan account, Lou Macari recalled that he “celebrated on way home with fish chips and a can of Irn Brew”.

Last week we featured Lou’s brilliant appearance on the Under The Cosh Podcast and that is something that , if you haven’t watch yet, you really should make some time to enjoy his wonderful story telling, and there’s plenty in there about his time at Celtic as a player and also briefly as a manager.
On Harry Hood, Matt Corr hasn’t been as active on The Celtic Star recently. That’s because he’s currently writing the Harry Hood biography, which is fully endorsed and supported by Harry’s family and will be available later this year.
🎼Feared by the bad, loved by the good,
Harry Hood, Harry Hood, Harry Hood🎼As a Celtic-daft Bhoy growing up in Glasgow, you dream about scoring the winning goal for the Hoops in a major cup final.
50 years ago today, Harry Hood achieved that dream.
A wonderful Celt 💚🍀 pic.twitter.com/FgnJSJcvrw
