Celtic ace recognised as the Star Man in the SPFL’s Team of the Week

There really is no better way to bounce back from a disappointing result than getting revenge and thumping someone 5-0 a few days later.

There was so much to enjoy in the victory over St Mirren at the weekend, but it also fully showed that Leigh Griffiths can be relied upon to score a lot of goals at this level.

So much was written about his absence last season and inconsistencies this year, so it’s brilliant to see him being recognised for his talents instead:

While Odsonne Edouard has rightfully taken the attention as Celtic’s main attacker this season, that does now leave Griffiths on 9 league goals so you can see he’s made a valuable contribution despite not being first choice for most of the year.

It’s probably also the first time for a while where he looked back to his old self and like he could score at every opportunity, so it’s a great time in the season for him to rediscover that.

The league is Celtic’s as long as nothing horrendous happens, so continuing to win games by a big margin will only help to crush the enthusiasm of anyone else who still clings on to title aspirations.
