Admittedly it would always be a huge shock if a player just came out and admitted they wanted to move when they were still under contract somewhere else, but this should be reassuring for Celtic fans.
Kristoffer Ajer has shown his quality over the past couple of seasons and he certainly looks destined for the top level. He’s defensively strong, great on the ball and can also step into midfield and cause problems in attack, so that’s exactly what every club needs.
Despite that, he’s still shown he will make mistakes and it feels like he needs some more time to develop, so pushing for a big move just now may not be the best idea.

A report from SempreMilan has looked at some of his recent comments after he had been linked with a move to the Italian giants, but Ajer has done his best to play those down:
“I have two years left of my contract at Celtic and I am not focusing on my future at all. I am not interested in what has been written about me.”
“At the moment, I am training hard. I have told the Celtic physical trainer that I want to take big steps during this break period. I run two sessions a day, and I am building up a lot of strength doing that,”
It’s important to remember that his agent had been making noises in the past about forcing a move, so this does sound like he’s trying to knuckle down and focus on playing for Celtic again.
The report also states that Celtic want more than €30m to let him go, so it could be tough for any club to convince them to sell anyway.
