Having the dastardly blue-nose double act of John Beaton and Steven McLean thrown at us at Tynecastle last Sunday it’s actually going to be more of same this weekend with the Scottish FA confirming a second theRangers supporting combo to handle Celtic’s home match against Falkirk this Sunday afternoon.

The Scottish FA confirmed that the ever so staunch David Dickinson will referee the Celtic v Falkirk match in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon at Celtic Park while the offspring of Hugh, Andrew Dallas will be on VAR duties.

Dickinson will be assisted by David Roome and Chris Rae while Andrew Dallas over at Clydesdale House will have Frank Connor assisting him in his VAR duties. Dickinson was one of only two match officials got to handle a Wilfried Nancy victory, as he had the whistle in Celtic’s 3-1 win at Celtic Park against Aberdeen in December.

Celtic supporters were incensed by the performance of both Steven McLean and John Beaton at Tynecastle at the weekend in the 2-2 draw with the league leaders. That result leaves Celtic trailing Hearts by six points and theRangers by two points though this two play each other shortly so points will be dropped somewhere.

Celtic perhaps has the easier run of fixtures over the next four matches in the Scottish Premiership with home games against Falkirk and Livingston and away trips to Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.
It looks like theRangers have one fairly straight-forward match, against Kilmarnock at Ibrox but the three against Hibs and Motherwell away and Hearts at home are all challenging. Meanwhile Hearts have three tough away matches going to Dundee United, St Mirren and theRangers and their only home game in the next four is against Hibs in an Edinburgh Derby.

Celtic need maximum points in these four games then we can assess where we are in the table as it’s very probable that quite a few points could be dropped elsewhere. Much of course will depend on what happens over the next few days regarding transfer incomings.
