Queen’s Park, competing in next season’s Scottish Championship, have confirmed a friendly match against Celtic, scheduled for Friday, 4 July, at The City Stadium [Lesser Hampden] with kick-off set for 7:45pm.

During their previous encounter at the same stadium last summer, the small number of supporters that attended witnessed an exhilarating friendly match that saw a combined total of 10 goals scored between the two teams.

In Celtic’s second pre-season match of the 2024/25 season, Matt O’Riley, Oh Hyeon-gyu, and Francis Turley all found the net, while Kyogo Furuhashi scored a hat-trick to cancel out the Spiders’ four goals, after a 1-1 draw with Ayr United at Somerset Park the week prior.

Celtic face a busy pre-season schedule with several matches lined up at home and abroad. This upcoming fixture in four weeks’ time marks their first game of the new campaign, before they head to the Republic of Ireland to take on Cork City.

Following that, the Hoops will head to Portugal’s Algarve region for a warm-weather training camp which will culminate with a match against Sporting CP at the Estadio do Algarve.

Rodgers’ men will then come back to Scotland from Portugal for a high-profile friendly against Newcastle United at Celtic Park, then travel to Italy to compete in the ‘Como Cup’ alongside Como, Ajax, and Al Ahli, with the tournament hosted by the Serie A club.

The Como Cup features a total of four matches, starting with Como playing Al-Ahli on Wednesday, July 23, followed by Celtic meeting Ajax the next day.

The teams will be ranked in a league format, with the top two after the opening games advancing to the final on Sunday, 27 July, while the remaining two teams will contest a third-place playoff on Saturday, 26 July.

Currently, Celtic are scheduled to participate in six matches, preparing thoroughly for a demanding 2025/26 season across all competitions.
