Celtic announce another fixture amendment to accommodate Sky Sports

Celtic have announced that the fixture against St Johnstone at McDairmid Park on Sunday, 5 February, which was scheduled to kick-off at 12.30pm has now been brought forward to 12pm. It is common occurrence with times being changed or matches rescheduled for supporters.

Sky Sports and their own schedule list will take precedence over everything, even at the expense of those that are the lifeblood of the game. It appears that this has been one of the games chosen by the broadcasting company to show as part of Scottish football’s paltry deal that has been going on for years now and has recently been extended.

Before we can even consider this one, there is still a whole lot more football to be played. We face the Saints tomorrow afternoon, then come up against Lee Johnson and his Hibs side in Leith on 28 December. Following this, we will then head to Ibrox to play Mick Beale’s suit-wearing superstars in what could be a major title challenge ender rather than a decider.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
