Celtic attacking duo snubbed for International Duty

Celtic attacking duo Oh and Yang have been snubbed by the South Korean caretaker manager ahead of the International Break. Both were included in Jurgen Klinsmann’s squad for the Asian Cup; however, with the German being sacked after their elimination, the caretaker boss Hwang Sun-hong has decided against bringing the Celtic pair for their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Thailand.

Yang has come onto a game since arriving back from the Asian Cup, playing well against Motherwell and Dundee before receiving a dubious red card against Hearts at Tynecastle. The chaos of his attacking play helped turn the game on its head at Fir Park but the call at Tynecastle meant that the player missed the win against Livingston and will miss Saturday’s game against St Johnstone.

Oh, meanwhile, has fallen down the pecking order at Celtic under Rodgers. In the last seven games, Oh has made just one appearances as the arrival of Adam Idah from Norwich City has limited opportunities in the squad with the Irishman competing against Kyogo.
