Callum McGregor spoke in glowing terms of his Celtic teammate, Adam Idah, after the Irishman put in a fine display away to Aston Villa on Wednesday night in the Champions League…

The Hoops went 2-0 down in the first few minutes of the game but thankfully they never let the head drop and found a way back into the match before half-time.
Idah scored two terrific goals in two minutes
The play was great all-round from a team perspective as manager Brendan Rodgers alluded to afterwards, however, there’s no denying Idah’s quality really came to the fore as he stepped up against sterling opposition on the road in Europe. The big man was unafraid to put himself about against Ezri Konsa and Co. and the rewards were there for all to see, as he got us level with two terrific goals inside the box.

“I thought Adam was outstanding,” Calum McGregor
His manager described him as “a handful” and his captain continued in that vein when he was asked post-match about his number nine. “I thought Adam was outstanding,” Calmac said. “They were really good goals and he worked really hard for the team. Obviously, strikers want goals so he’ll feel a lot better about himself after that, but he was excellent for the team, setting the pressure and he was a real outlet for the team as well.”

Idah forced the OG against BSC Young Boys
It really feels like that Aston Villa showing was the one Adam was in desperate need of to pull him from the slight malaise he’s been enduring lately. The week before against BSC Young Boys, it was his great run that helped shape that goal and gave Reo Hatate the angle to fire the magnificent pass into for the winner. Hopefully this can be the catalyst for him to kick on and show why the club have shelled out £9 million for him in the summer.
Over to you, big man.
