Celtic Captain Named Star Man in cinch’s SPFL TOTW

Celtic Captain, Callum McGregor has been named in the cinch SPFL Team of the Week. Not only that, the dynamic midfield anchor man has also been named as the Star Man within the chosen eleven too. The boyhood Hoops fan had a stormed on his return to the team and it seems it hadn’t gone unnoticed outside of Celtic Park.

The man who makes Celtic tick out on the field of play has been mightily missed since his injury against RB Leipzig of Germany back in October, during UEFA Champions League group stage action. He done his knee trying to prevent a Leipzig counter-attack which eventually led to a goal unfortunately, which was quite the hammerblow.

Others have stepped in in his absence, with Denmark U21 cap, Matt O’Riley being particularly impressive during the first period of the season. But nothing brings calm to this Hoops team quite like Callum. He’s a wonderfully gifted passer of the ball and never panics – even in the most intense situations. It’s why he’s been so successful with the club throughout his tenure in a Celtic shirt.

His goal up at Pittodrie just really sums up his mentality and ability which is first class. Him coming back heading into this really tricky run of fixtures we have, culminating in a crunch clash at Ibrox with the ten-year-old club is timely as it is handy. If he keeps his performance levels like that display at Aberdeen, the other club are in a spot of bother.

Welcome back, Callum!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
