Celtic Collectables, Items Down The Years

Every football club has its own historians, collectors and archivists. As Celtic fans, with a history and identity that goes way football, we take a special interest in our own items. Here’s a list of just some of the Celtic collectables down the years, with the list continuing to grow today.

  • Celtic Action Man: First made in the mid 1960s, continuing into the 70s

  • Cigarettes and match boxes: Launched by Hal Stewart after Celtic won the European Cup in 1967, they were sold for a few months but didn’t prove a business success

  • Celtic crisps: These were sold outside the ground in the early 1990s in two types of packaging – the green and white hooped design and the yellow and black Bumbles inspired design

  • Inflatable Jinky’s: produced in the 1960s and 70s, long before such items became popular in English football in the 1980s

  • Celtic Phonecards: In 1990 the club launched these for use in phone booths and BT then launched their own Celtic themed cards

  • Celtic LPs/Records: Sold by the club in the 60s and 70s with patriotic Irish ballads, songs of resistance and Celtic songs on them

  • Lisbon Lion stamps: Produced by Royal Mail in 2017 to mark 50 years since the Lisbon Lions won the European Cup

  • Celtic Subbuteo: Editions were launched in the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s
