The right-back slot is one in which Celtic are desperately needing cover with Frimpong leaving for Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £11.5m. Kenny is an exciting prospect and the club faced competition from Burnley to bring the player. The Clarets were quoted £8m when they inquired about the former England U21 earlier in the window but that fee may have dropped as Everton look to get the player off the books.
Hopefully the deal will include an option to buy and if the player impresses he can be rewarded with a permanent deal. There would likely have been more enjoyment in Kenny joining the club had there been a change of manager in the last few days following the defeat to St Mirren at Celtic Park.
Kenny proved himself to be an impressive player in the Bundesliga having spent a loan spell there last season but has struggled to really push on with Everton, having made 48 appearances. Hopefully he can hit the ground running with Celtic.
