Celtic confirm James Forrest’s special role for flag day

Celtic have confirmed that James Forrest will have the honour of unfurling the league flag on Saturday. The Scottish Champions kick off their bid to make it 3IAR against Ross County and the 32-year-old will be honoured for his service to the club.

In an update on Monday evening, Celtic confirmed that Forrest would do perform the duty that skipper Callum McGregor carried out last season.

Forrest has made 467 appearances for Celtic since making his breakthrough in 2010. The wingers has scored an astonishing 102 goals whilst assisting on 101 occasions.

The one-club man is a worthy recipient of a Testimonial and it is sure to be a special occasion on Tuesday evening. Thereafter, Forrest will also be honoured at Celtic Park on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Maik Nawrocki is expected to make his debut in the game against Athletic Club on Tuesday evening. The Celtic defender joined in a £4.3m deal from Legia Warsaw but missed the trip to Dublin due to a slight ankle injury.
