Celtic Confirm That Club Are Addressing The Matter After Kris Boyd Makes Shocking McGregor Injury Comments

Former Rangers striker and now theRangers cheerleader, Kris Boyd, is arguably the least articulate pundit in Scottish football. In the eyes of many, he is incapable of analysing football in a neutral fashion or constructing many coherent sentences when it comes to matches involving Celtic. As annoying as that fan in the pub like bias may be, depending on your temperament, there is possibly a more sinister side to his behaviour which has undoubtedly overstepped the mark today.

Boyd, who scored just one goal in Glasgow Derbies as a player, wrote his column for the Scottish Sun this morning. During the article, he stated:

“Look at Celtic, Callum McGregor played with a fractured cheekbone. The fact he managed to get through the 90 minutes without anyone testing out that face mask is another story.”

Such inappropriate comments from a professional pundit immediately raised eyebrows and now Celtic Football have responded.

In a post uploaded to the official Twitter account, the club confirmed: “With regards to comments made by former professional footballer Kris Boyd concerning Callum McGregor’s injury, we can confirm that the matter is currently being addressed by the club.”

What comes of this is unclear at the moment. However, many Celtic fans now wish to see Boyd banned from Celtic Park.

  1. A ban from Celtic Park is the least that should come out of this blatant incitement for someone to injure a player on the field of play .
The SUN should be removing him from their payroll – think of the money they will save on providing crayons for him to write his articles ; SKY should be seriously considering whether this is the type of thinking that one of their staff should be airing .
If both of these businesses do nothing then they are tacitly condoning violence on the pitch .

  2. I honestly can’t believe that he said that? Does he really want to see callum injured? An apology is now too late and it should be a firing offence from both jobs and maybe just watch the rangers games in pubs down paisley road west where his hateful comments will be appreciated.

  3. Is anyone surprised by the comments made by Chris Boyd . He is of the same mindset as the morons who :-Defecated in public , accosted innocent bystanders , hung RACIST BANNERS from motorway bridges , fought with the police and among themselves , then wrecked George Square .
He is a clown with no morality , no dignity , no class and FULL OF HATE . If SKY and the SUN take no action it means that these organisations agree and condone his comments . Sorry to say —-It is the country we live -in and there are many who will be applauding him for his bilious , senseless comments !!!!!!
