Celtic consulting lawyers over ‘pathetic comments’ from TalkSport Presenter

CELTIC have today taken legal advice over a disgraceful tweet by Mike Graham which has subsequently been deleted by the TalkRadio presenter.

Supporters have been outraged by the tweet which described Celtic as “the paedo’s football club” and have been contacting Supporter Liaison Officer John Paul Taylor to see what action Celtic plans to take.

“Seen the pathetic comments and have taken legal advice. Apparently the tweet has now been removed,” John Paul replied to a question on this matter.

“The individual concerned isn’t worthy of any further comment,” he added.

You can see the deleted tweet here and look at those likes and re-tweets – bet we all know which club that most of them support. This is of course their favourite subject, one they’ll return to as soon as Celtic are ‘crowned’ Champions.

“Take him to court. Show some strength against these keyboard warriors,” another Celtic supporter comments. Another added, “Should be held accountable for his disgraceful bigotry comment! Please don’t let it go.”

Celtic should also consider boycotting TalkRadio completely. TalkSport was a favoured media outlet when Brendan Rodgers was the Celtic manager, mindful of the importance of keeping his profile as high as possible in England, no doubt. But now there is no need for Celtic’s PR Department to sanction any media requests from that station.

Just blank then completely.

Graham might have more to fear from his own employers than from Celtic – is it a sacking matter? Almost certainly.

The fact that the tweet was deleted points to action being taken and that radio station may want to protect itself by getting rid of this bigot once and for all.

This all happened on a weekend when BBC Sportsound invited that DUP bigot onto their Saturday afternoon Sportsound programme. We pointed out on twitter, and Graham’s subsequent remarks adds weight to our suggestion, that there should be an Offensive Behaviour in Football Broadcasting Act introduced.

The airwaves are at the moment, seeping with their hurt, jealous and hatred of all things Celtic.

And here’s another idea for Celtic to consider. Why not just speak to the club’s own media, the thriving Celtic fan media and any media sponsors who put money into the game. The rest? Patch completely.
