Alistair Johnston has been named in the SPFL Team of the Week, following his strong showing against Hibernian at the weekend…

The Hoops defeated David Gray and his team 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in the Quarter-final of the Scottish Cup at Paradise, to send us back to Hampden once again under Brendan Rodgers.
Alistair Johnston links up so well with Nicolas Kühn
The Bhoys dominated the match on Sunday and Johnston linked up superbly well with his partner in crime, Nicholas Kühn, making life a misery for the Hibs defence at times. Despite the resolute defending at times from the Leith club, they just couldn’t match Celtic’s intensity and quality, with Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah scoring the goals that sealed their fate on the day.

Potential for strong interest in AJ this summer
Canadian full-back, Johnston, has been enjoying a really solid season for the club and has shown what he is capable of not only in domestic football with Celtic when called upon, but crucially, on the European stage as well too.
That has led to supposed interest in him from England, Italy and elsewhere, but he is yet another player who won’t be leaving Celtic Park unless the asking price is met and not a moment sooner.

AJ relishes the physical side of Glasgow Derby matches
AJ will no doubt be itching for this Sunday now so that he can get stuck into the physical side of the game against our arch-rivals when they visit the home of the Champions.
The North American defender has never hidden his desire to get involved in the physical tussle and the Glasgow Derby matches always see him thrive against an opponent we continuously get the better of.
It’s getting closer…
