Celtic face competition for £1.3m Danish striker

Celtic are facing competition for Kasper Junker with Italian side Crotone launching a bid for the 26-year-old. The Danish forward was reportedly a target of Celtic heading into the January transfer window when TeamTalk claimed that the Scottish Champions wanted to bolster their misfiring strike force. However, now Crotone have launched a bid for the Bodo/Glimt attacker.

With 28 goals in 26 games, Junker caught the attention of bigger clubs as the provincial side won the league title. Celtic have recruited well from Norway with Stefan Johansen, Kris Ajer and Mikael Lustig coming to mind. Crotone are bottom of Serie A and it is likely that they will be relegated. As a result, the player may not fancy that move if there is an alternative to Celtic.

Celtic signed Albian Ajeti in the summer as well as Patryk Klimala last January yet neither of the new signings have made any real impact. Odsonne Edouard is expected to leave and Leigh Griffiths is okay in the role of a squad player that will guarantee some goals but the striker force could use some recruitment.
