CELTIC supporters could be allowed back inside Celtic Park next Sunday after news that the SPFL is looking to use the visit from Motherwell as a test match for the social distancing criteria that has been put in place to allow limited numbers of home supporters to attend games.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon yesterday gave the green light to resuming sports events with spectators from the middle of next month but a trial in the Celtic v Motherwell game next Sunday – the game was recently pushed back 24 hours to accommodate Motherwell’s Europa League qualifier next week – now looks like going ahead.
Respected journalist Stephen McGowan has more on this story in today’s Daily Mail and it is sure to enrage the Rangers support who will no doubt be moaning about Celtic supporters being allowed back into Parkhead before they are allowed to attend a match at Ibrox. They know that Peter Lawwell runs Scottish football so they’ll just to have suck it up and wait.
Celtic will also have a problem in selecting who gets in and who doesn’t and they may choose to give these tickets to supporters who live locally, rather than to those who have to travel some distance on supporters buses.
