Celtic Fans React To Scotland’s National Lockdown Announcement With Ironic “Null & Void The Season” Jokes

Last season, Celtic had a 13 point lead at the top of the SPFL table, whilst the Rangers had a game in hand. The gap thus would have been 10 points if they won their game in hand. Co-incidentally, if Celtic win their three games in hand this season, then they will trail the league leaders by 10 points! It’s history repeating itself.

Nicola Sturgeon has announced that Scotland will be plunged into a month long national lockdown this evening, with measures supposed to be stricter than those that were in place last March. The announcement is not believed to affect professional sport, at least according to BBC reporter – Chris McLaughlin:

Nevertheless, Celtic fans remember all the cries of “tainted title” last season, when the Hoops were handed the title in a vote. The fact that the club these shouters support voted for that very outcome doesn’t register with them. Celtic had that margin in March. We are two months earlier now and, therefore, Celtic fans are mocking the situation by calling for “null and void”. Oh how karma bites!
