“Celtic gave in,” Petulant, Disrespectful, Dembele – ‘la mauvaise graine’

MOUSSA DEMBELE spoke at his Lyon press conference today and regrettably he passed up the chance to build some bridges with Celtic. Having thrown his toys from the pram to get his move – ‘la mauvaise graine’ (the bad apple) at Brendan Rodgers’ training session yesterday – Dembele could have spoken diplomatically about Celtic – as indeed Rodgers did late last night when the classy Celtic manager said:

“I would like to thank Moussa for his contribution in our last two seasons and want to wish him well in his new adventure at Lyon.”

How did the petulant former Celtic striker respond?

“From my side, I was certain I wanted to come to Lyon.

“Celtic needed a replacement, well, at least that was the excuse that they gave.

“In the end, they gave in.”

Oh well, Moussa, that’s that then. We all know where we stand.

He continued by talking about his new club. “I am very happy to be here today.

“I was really determined to come to Lyon.

“It’s a great club, with a great history. It’s a club that’s going to make me move.

“I’m a goalscorer. I’m here to play and help the club.

“I discovered a new culture in Fulham, then I went to Celtic for a new challenge.

“I try to have a constant progression and this is the most important.”
