Celtic given major managerial hint after appearance at St Mirren match

Celtic fans have been given a major hint about the club’s managerial hunt after Martin O’Neill was pictured taking in Scottish Premiership action on Saturday. The Irishman was in attendance for St Mirren’s game against Hibs, less than 24 hours before he takes charge of Celtic’s must win clash with Kilmarnock.

The Scottish Champions face the Buddies on December 14th in the Premier Sports Cup Final. It remains to be seen whether Celtic will have appointed a new manager by that stage.

In St Mirren’s defeat against Hibernian on Saturday evening, MON and Mark Fotheringham were spotted watching the action unfold in Paisley.

Celtic face St Mirren at the SMISA Stadium on Saturday 22nd, after the international break. The fact that O’Neill and Fotheringham have been spotted suggests that they are preparing to be in situ at Celtic Park after the international break. Once again, there appears to be a lack of communication coming from the club about the managerial hunt. O’Neill was installed on an interim basis after Brendan Rodgers decided to resign but he has made it clear that he sees this as a short term solution.

Kieran McKenna of Ipswich and Kjetil Knutsen have been linked with the role. Both are in employment and it remains to be seen if they would move mid season. There is a strong argument for Knutsen given that the Norwegian season is coming to an end in late November. The Norwegian side do, however, have three UCL games to contend with taking them into January.
