Celtic have signed Legia Warsaw centre-back Maik Nawrocki for £4.3m

Polish defender, Maik Nawrocki, today joined CelticFC on a five-year deal – subject to international clearance with the club paying a fee of £4.3m to Legia Warsaw for the central defender. Maik Nawrocki will wear the Number 17 jersey for the Scottish Champions and Treble winners and doesn’t he look absolutely delighted to have signed for Celtic?

The player was pictured along with new signings Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu, who were announced on Monday. Now that all formalities have been agreed Celtic have officially confirmed the fifth summer signing.

In 60 appearances for Legia Warsaw, Nawrocki has assisted 4 times and scored on 5 occasions but it has been his powerful displays at the back that have sparked interest from across Europe with Celtic winning the race to bring the Polish defender to Paradise.

Whilst Nawrocki is predominately a central defender, the 22-year-old can also play on the right side of defence. Along with Hyun-jun and Hyeok-kyu, Rodgers has also added Norwegian kid Odin Thiago Holm and Australian winger Marco Tilio.

With Cameron Carter Vickers now returning to full fitness and the signing of Maik Nawrocki the central defensive situation at Celtic has just got a whole lot better!
